Unpopular opinion: Vision boards don't always hit the spot 🤷♀️
Don't get me wrong, I love making vision boards and have found them to be useful in some ways. But sometimes, life isn't always summed up in pictures. And those photos can feel limiting.
Or, if your vision changes throughout the year, it can almost become a mockery of old dreams that just don't quite fit right anymore, and it feels like something to burn.
Some of us have abstract nonsense going on in our minds, and our GOAL is to achieve more clarity. That won't always happen in a crafty afternoon around New Year's.
The truth of the matter is that you don't always need to make a list to accomplish a goal. You don't have to sit in a workshop or bust out a journal to make a difference in your life (so don't feel badly if those activities don't call to you).
Work on the energy in whatever way calls to you until you have clarity on what's to come next 🔮
Sit with the energy, wait to see what happens when it shifts. If you're watching it with 👀 awareness 👀 the clarity will come.
I say all this because I found focusing on a word instead of a list made 2023 my most expansive year yet.
In 2023, the word was grace 😇
One time a coach told me that we often overestimate what we can accomplish in a year but underestimate what we can accomplish in three. As I get older, I see how right she is.
My lists SUCK 🤣 They never make sense when put to time frames (because you can't always schedule magic). They fn stress me OUT and cause me to procrastinate.
But when I focus on a vibe, an energy, time melts away.
When I'm enveloped in a project to bring a brand closer to a vibe, transformation is inevitable. When I'm told to increase sales by 15% in a month, my brain freezes and doesn't understand the root of the goal, but when I'm asked to change company culture to a vibe of abundance, I increase company revenue by 26%.
Remember: different vibes call for different strategies ✨
