"Bee to the blossom, moth to the flame; Each to his passion; what's in a name?"
Advice for home practice during parts of your exploration phases: If you start to analyze your movement patterns based on what brought you to that moment in the day RATHER THAN always analyzing as a removed, vacuum-sealed product steeped in expectation of a synthetic and intensely curated vibe, your art can become more interesting and useful. Example: today's mood is hella silly and flighty and cozy and painful. Instead of trying to be graceful - a word I would not use to describe today - I just let my body move how it wanted to. And now I have a direct reference point in the future if I want to develop an act / character that has sprinkles of this vibe. Bonus: I can expand on my personal definition of beauty within my own movement vocabulary because this vibe is just as interesting and full of information as any cleaned up, well rehearsed number.
