Welcome!

Hi, hello, pleasure to meet you! Today, Cirque Du Marina has officially been birthed. There have been many beta tests over the years to get to this point, and sharing this experience with you is quite special and unique.

I'm Marina - and I'm so glad you're here.

Cirque Du Marina is Your Go-To Source for Living Life Authentically and Creatively! This blog is your daily dose of inspiration to become the ringleader of your own circus: As told by an untraditional, queer, circus and nightlife entertainer and producer.

I'm hoping to offer some inspiration, education, and motivation into your life. This is the train that houses the aspiring acrobats, clowns, contortionists, dreamers, believers, and above all else, the wonder and excitement of unadulterated freedom. If the big tent is our playing field, then this train is where we prepare the best versions of ourselves. Cirque Du Marina is a Lifestyle Blog and Personal Coaching Service that dives deeply into what growth into our authentic selves looks like. It's about standing up to your fears and choosing the fight over the flight. It's about finding balance with healthy and fit choices. It's about knowing when to say no, and when to say yes.

Who I am today: what a complicated concept!

I'm a a traveling pole dancer, burlesque dancer, trapeze artist, go go dancer, model, nightlife host, event producer, movement teacher, and mathematician currently based out of Madison, Wisconsin. I've been a dancer my whole life - squeezing into costumes, being blinded by the stage lights, and watching the audience take in my messages are things that surround my most naive and innocent memories. When I was 19, I took up pole dancing and became an instructor for 3 years based out of a local pole studio. Early on in my pole career, I found burlesque by accident, when realizing my inner showgirl was guiding my pole journey - not whatever cool trick was most popular at the time.

I always imagined that I'd run away with the circus. I never hated my life. I just grew up road-tripping, taking value in experience, enjoying human interaction, and above all else I was obsessed with the feeling of being inspired. You know that feeling when your heart feels like it is being tickled, and you end up almost-crying so your throat is all choked up and your fingertips are buzzing? No drug offers that feeling. No amount of money can buy that feeling. No physical object when turned on can help me achieve that feeling. Only witnessing and being a part of a moment in an artist's life when a creation is being shared offers that feeling. My favorite brand of that feeling was always found in the mystery of circus.

I began performing professionally in November 2015, and haven't taken a break since. Since then, I have performed 82 times in multiple states in the US. I helped co-produce multiple festivals with the Wisconsin Burlesque Association, traveled all across the Midwest to perform with some of pole and burlesque world's greatest treasures, competed in Burlypicks Regional Competition (Wisconsin) and Pole Sport Organization's Central Pole Championships, organize weekly meet ups for dancers to hone their craft, AND am training to become a Trapeze artist with Cycropia and Madison Circus Space. I have been featured in The Isthmus (Madison based newspaper) as a public figure in the "Sexy Empowerment" movement (September 1st, 2016). I am one of two producers for Sunday Bumday! Burlesque Revue, a monthly variety show that is held every third Sunday of the month at 7pm in Madison, Wisconsin.
